Ktown Cowboys Episode 4 to 7

Last we left these cowboys, there were just getting warmed up at a local drinking bar in Ktown. The bartender, Esther wasn't exactly friendly to them until it was known that they were friends of the owner. That's when she started warming up to them, and admitting her reluctance in catering to the obnoxious customers on the other side of the bar.

It's not what you know, it's who you know.

In the next couple of episodes, you will be introduced to booking and norebang.

Having experienced Ktown before, we have to say that the series so far is pretty authentic. The characters, the conversations, and the interactions are all very real. It's finally a portrayal of Asians where we aren't kung-fu fighters, exotic China dolls, or immigrants-in-despair.

It's just a bunch of Asian's partying on a normal weekend night.

Trailer for Jay Chou's American movie debut, 'The Green Hornet' Released

The trailer for the "The Green Hornet" has just been released! Why are we all excited? This marks Taiwan superstar Jay Chou's debut in American cinema, taking on the role of Green Hornet's sidekick, Kato.

For those who don't know, it was no other than the legendary Bruce Lee who played the "faithful valet" back in the TV series in the 1960's.

For Jay, without a doubt, he has stated, "It's an overwhelming experience to take on a role made famous by Bruce Lee."

What do we know about Kato?

The character was originally Japanese at the premiere of the radio show in 1936 but as Japanese-American relations turned sour over the years prior and leading up to Pearl Harbor, it had prompted the producers to change his nationality to Korean.

His array of skills include driving (he is the chaffeur after all), auto mechanics (he fixes up Green Hornet's car, the "Black Beauty"), and, of course, martial arts (ah duh!). What his nationality will be in the new movie is anyone's guess.

The role of Kato for the movie was originally bestowed upon Hong Kong comedian, Stephen Chow who took on a dual responsibility as director for the movie. However, due to "creative differences" with the producers, he stepped down as director but remained as Kato. A few months later, he completely exited the project. The search for a new Kato ensued until it was announced that Jay Chou was to be the new Kato in August 2009.

With that said, it would be interesting to see Jay in his first English-speaking role. Be sure to catch the movie when it is released in Jan 2011. In the meantime, check out the trailer!

PS. In our excitement, we almost forgot to mention that the starring role will be played by no other than funnyman Seth Rogen, last seen in "Zack and Miri Make a Porno", and will also co-star Cameron Diaz.

Apple unveils the iPhone 4

Silicon Valley's worst kept secret has just been unveiled. Suprise everyone!

It's the iPhone 4!

If you keep up with tech news, it's exactly the same as the prototype Gizmodo got their hands on a few months ago. The only thing missing were the fine details and the marketing monikers. Of the 100+ new features, the ones note worthy include:
  • FaceTime - real-time video chat
  • Retina Display - 960-by-640-pixel resolution at 326 ppi
  • Multi-tasking
  • HD Video Recording and Editing
  • 5-MP Camera with LED Flash
  • Folders for Apps
All that aside, the killer app on the 4th iteration of this revolutionary product, really is FaceTime. The face-fronting camera on the prototype had already alluded to this feature. Though Apple can't claim to be the first one to implement this (Qik already exists), they will probably be the first to market it to the masses.

It will, however, only work on Wi-Fi for now. In the meantime, Apple has stated it is working diligently with the wireless carriers to deliver the feature on their 3G/4G networks.

For more details, check out the Apple website!

Hit Drama Series "IRIS" now available free

If you've been living under a rock last year, you might not seen or heard about one of the best Korean dramas to-date: IRIS.

If you did, don't fret. All 20 episodes are now available, free and streaming on DramaFever.com. If you don't understand Korean, it's all subtitled in English.

http://www.dramafever.com/drama/124/1/Iris/

Here is a blurb on it from DramaFever.com:

"A blockbuster hit and one of the most talked-about dramas of the year, Iris premiered to stunning ratings of 24.5% and had crossed 30% ratings by its 8th episode. With a budget of 20 billion won (approaching one million U.S. dollars per episode), this explosive action-spy thriller uniquely utilized many aspects of American television and action film genres to create a high-octane, large-scale production with international flare and exotic shooting locations.

Megastar and Hallyu icon Lee Byung Hun (known to Hollywood fans as Storm Shadow from GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra) gives the performance of a lifetime as a daredevil secret agent who transforms into a driven, tormented spy on the run from powers he doesn't understand. He is ably assisted by a star-studded cast including Kim Tae Hee (Hallyu star for Love Story in Harvard and Stairway to Heaven), Jung Joon Ho (2008's hit Last Scandal), Kim So Yeon (Gourmet), and T.O.P. (mega Kpop hiphop boyband Big Bang). Succeeding in blending the tension and fast pace of American action dramas such as 24 with the romance and character depth of Korean dramas, Iris's innovative style, heavy-weight leads and big budget have enabled it to become something of a minor phenomenon (the broadcast rights have already been bought in seven other countries). It is well on its way to becoming a Kdrama classic.

Kim Hyun Joon (Lee Byung Hun) and Jin Sa Woo (Jung Joon Ho) are college roommates and best friends when they are recruited by Choi Seung Hee (Kim Tae Hee) into the top secret organization known as the NSS. Seung Hee, the agency's top profiler, had carefully chosen them as candidates, and the two quickly prove themselves as superb agents. Along the way both men fall for Seung Hee - who loves only one of them. When Hyun Joon is sent on his most dangerous and high-profile mission yet in Hungary, he finds himself set up and betrayed. Believing that everyone he cares about is either dead or a traitor, Hyun Joon goes on a quest for vengeance to find out who set him up, and discovers what the organization called IRIS is.

A powerhouse blend of action, drama, and romance, this drama is certainly not to be missed."

It is highly recommended drama series and a sequel to be released at the end of 2010 is in the works.
